Supervisor and Section Administrator

The Supervisor and Section Administrator fields on a user's account define their reporting hierarchy. Both fields point to another user account — they record who supervises this person and who administers their section respectively.

These fields are set in the User Business Role Details panel on an account. They can be set individually, in bulk using the Account Bulk Update tool, or via CSV import. For those procedures, see Accounts.

My Reports Filtering

Several pages in Formbird FLEET include a filter that lets you narrow data to only the people you supervise. When this filter is used, the page finds all accounts where the logged-in user is set as either the Supervisor or the Section Administrator — both fields are checked together.

Works Management Operator Menu — Works Information panel

The Filter Grid By control includes a Created By My Reports option alongside Created By Me, All, and My Assets. Selecting it filters the Requests shown in the Works Information panel to those reported by your direct reports.

Plant Hours Records page — Plant Hours Record Documents panel

The Filter For My Reports checkbox filters the listing to Plant Hours Records created by your direct reports.

Time Recorder Report

The Select By dropdown in the Report panel includes a Supervisor option. Selecting it reveals a supervisor picker — choose a supervisor to filter the report to time recordings belonging to that supervisor's direct reports.

Viewing Your Direct Reports

When viewing a user's account, a table shows all accounts that have this user set as either their supervisor or section administrator. Both relationship types appear together, giving a single view of everyone reporting to that user.

The Difference Between the Two Fields

For all My Reports filtering, the Supervisor and Section Administrator fields are treated identically — there is no functional difference between being someone's supervisor versus their section administrator. The two fields exist to reflect different organisational structures, allowing you to record both a direct line manager and a section-level administrator where that distinction is meaningful.
